A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

“Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even one year old, and I’m pregnant again. I don’t want kids so close together.”

So the doctor said: “Okay, and what do you want me to do?”

She said: “I want you to end my pregnancy, and I’m counting on your help with this.”

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence, he said to the lady: “I think I have a better solution for your problem. It’s less dangerous for you, too.”

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: “You see, in order for you not to have to take care of two babies at the same time, let’s kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we’re going to kill one of them, it doesn’t matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.”

The lady was horrified and said: “No, doctor! How terrible! It’s a crime to kill a child!”

“I agree,” the doctor replied. “But you seemed to be okay with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.”

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference between killing a child that’s already been born and killing one that’s still in the womb. The crime is the same!

It’s not just a good morning for me but a happy one as well I slept at 4AM then woke up at 10AM. Can I be more hardworking? Hehehe.

So anyway, I feel so good in so many ways. First, I am already intestinally okay which means that I can now go back to my old diet. For breakfast, I’m going to eat bread plus soft drinks. I’m also skipping papaya. The mere sight of it is enough to make me poop. LOL. Sorry for this kadirs post but I’m just so glad that I am now lifting the self-imposed high-fiber diet

Second, I feel that I’ve become a more responsible person in terms of meeting my deadlines. The truth is, there are no deadlines to meet I’ve realized that it’s a battle that I can never win. I am a slow writer and I have to accept the fact that I am just torturing myself by taking jobs that are impossible for me to finish within the required turnaround. So now, I am only accepting assignments that I can really finish on time.

Finally, I am on chapter 8 of The Idiot. I wonder how many years will it take me to actually finish the entire book. I read fairly fast but I am reading a lot of reading materials all at the same time. Love and Responsibility is another book that caught my attention. It was written by Pope John Paul the Great. I don’t have a copy of the book yet so I am relying on a website that explains its content. I would like to reflect on it hopefully soon.

Happy blogging

edit: I found a PDF copy of the Theology of the Body link I think it’s just a summary or an explanation.

The Bible didn’t just fall from heaven, while a thundering voice from out of nowhere proclaimed “THIS IS GOD’S WORD!”

In 367, St. Athanasius of Alexandria – a great defender of the Divinity of Christ – wrote his “39th Festal Letter” in which he identified what books rightfully belong to the “New Testament.” He did this to protect his followers in Alexandria from believing in the various heresies and errors contained in bogus “holy books”. This was the first time that the “canon” or official list of books of the New Testament was identified. It gained immediate acceptance with most believers.

In the years 393, the Council of Hippo made the first enumeration of all the 73 books (both Old and New Testament) that we Catholics now consider as comprising the Bible. This same list was affirmed 4 years later, in 397, in the Council of Carthage. A few years later, Saint Exuperius of Toulouse wrote to Pope St. Innocent I in a formal letter requesting the list of canonical books. The Pope replied in 405 A.D. with a letter confirming and reaffirming the canon given at Hippo and Carthage. Yet another Council in Carthage, in the year 419, reaffirmed the canon of the Bible given in previous Councils in Hippo and Carthage.

Now, some Born-Again Christians might complain: “But the Catholic Bible has a different Old Testament from the Old Testament that we use!” They’re right: the Catholic Old Testament has 46 books while the Protestant Old Testament has only 39 books.

There is an easy answer to this: the Catholic Old Testament is based upon the Greek Old Testament actually used in the time of Jesus Christ and accepted by all Christians for 1,500 years. The version of the Old Testament used by Protestants (including the “Born Again”), on the other hand, is based on a Hebrew version compiled several decades after Jesus lived and walked on the Earth. It was not accepted as the real Old Testament by any Christian until the founder of Protestantism, Martin Luther, did so in 1521. The differences between the Protestant and Catholic Old Testament also do not change the fact that Born Again Christians accept – without question – the Catholic New Testament.

So, next time someone tries to weaken your Catholic faith by using the Bible, remember: the Bible is a Catholic book.

I’m scared of dentists. It’s been my phobia since I was a child and I don’t know why. I have to force myself to visit a dental clinic once a year for cleaning. My mother said it should be twice a year but I’m too lazy to do that. The last time was a few weeks after I was victimized by a pickpocket. That was a long time ago. Sometime in July 2011. It’s been 8 months already!

Anyway, my mother just dropped by and said she’s going to drag me to a nearby clinic this Saturday. What a shame. I am a woman and I’m too lazy to take care of my teeth. At least I brush twice a day. My mother said it should be every after meals. But I don’t eat much! So I think it’s okay. I don’t floss. What’s that?

You should see my mother’s teeth. She takes care of herself like she’s never been married and has never had kids before. I can only aspire to be like my mom. She always looks good, feels good, smells good, etc. She wears cologne even when she is just at home. And she’s so smart and witty. I think that’s why she has a flourishing love life.

Maybe if I would start to act more like her, I’d … never mind. I think I should really visit my dentist this coming Saturday and maybe ask for discount dental braces. I think I want to have dental braces. But first, I have to write plenty of articles in order to afford that. LOL. Or maybe I should try to visit my dentist on a regular basis to overcome my fear and then once I am already comfortable with this whole dental thing, I can start thinking about the braces. What do you think?

i said this is nothing. so don’t read this.

my posts are always brutally honest and i’ve always believed that there is nothing wrong with that. these are my blogs and i have the right to express my thoughts whether they are nice or evil. but recently, i have no choice but to hide a few of my posts because some of my friends already know about my online activities and i think i’m not ready to expose the most natural side of me. you know, the posts that are stupid and insane. the ones that people would call “bitchy.” Of course, I know the world won’t give a damn about what’s going on inside my mind. after all, they have better things to think of like poverty, corruption, climate change, impeachment trial, love life, Facebook, magnum ice cream, blah blah blah. but but but … i can’t let them know about my true feelings especially about what happened in the last couple of weeks!

i hate vague endings. it’s all i can say.

Discouraged about a few things … but I feel lucky to have amazingly wonderful friends who try to encourage me about … finding love. Religion and distance don’t matter. Our hearts and soul do

Craving for ice cream … but the one available in here is … gasp … strawberry flavored … at least my sister gave me some of her barangay-famous chicken adobo

Teary-eyed … but for a positive reason. I know God is kind. Everything will be okay soon. That’s for sure …

Hate confrontations … but I’m glad I finally had the courage to talk to Ms. AL and speak from my heart. She still doesn’t get my point but I’ll pray for the best …

So these are my reflections for today Tuesday. I miss the sunshiney summer. Where is mr. sun?

I registered an account in an online dating site a few months back. My intention was complicated. I wanted to do a research about why a lot of people are joining such websites. And I wanted to blog about what is really happening inside those sites.

Well, it’s not as simple as what I have imagined it to be. First, I don’t want to upload a picture so nobody is interested in me. Second, I don’t like to initiate conversations so I’m just waiting for someone to contact me. Third, they “walk away” as soon as they find out that I’m not there to find “love.”

Then today, somebody from Netherlands has me a message.

torinawa: you should try and interview some of the datingsite owners and/or admins. This way is more fun of course, but for a blog it will soon become biased rants.

me: thanks for the suggestion. it’s actually difficult to find someone who wants to be interviewed. nobody wants to waste time on me. and yes, it’s going to be biased. i see online dating sites in a bad light. i cringe when a western guy treats these Asian ladies like prostitutes. of course i know there are scammers. but most men i meet here are pervs. anyway, thanks again

torinawa: You can begin your interview now if you like

me: let’s get started

the questions are simple

why did you register in DIA?

is it true that western men are looking for girls in asia because they are a “garbage” in their own countries? i mean they are losers that western women cannot accept them?

do you think that these women are desperate? that they only want to get your money or that they are only using you to get a visa?

do you think you can find true love through this online dating thing?

sorry the questions are mean. as i’ve said, i see online dating sites in a bad light. although i believe that it is possible to find true love through websites like this, i still see a lot of western men taking advantage, asking ladies to take off clothes on webcam, saying perv things, etc. yes, they are taking advantage because they know that most of these girls are starving

please take your time in answering these questions

i will be waiting

thanks!

I am here to observe and learn. Mostly the operational side of this site.

Many are. But about 5% of the men you find on dating sites are really looking for a partner.

Hm.. It’s my experience that economic motives play a role.

Actually yes. Chances are slim though.

Your questions are not mean.. But biased and so not very helpful in any research about this phenomenon.

me: about 5% LOL. i wonder what the remaining 95% are doing here? anyway, thanks for the honest answers

torinawa: Ow.. the other 95%? Motives are very diverse. But mostly sexual in nature. From pedophiles to sadists, from wankers to men who are in need of a self-image boost.

I forgot the sex-tourists in my last message. I am sleepy now, so I will go to bed. Again, TC and have a nice day.

Just for the record. Try to find something about a similar phenomenon from Ukraine and Ghana. You’ll cry your eyes out when you delve in this rubbish to deep. You’ll never trust another soul online again…

me: thank you so much for your time sir

—-

I’m crazy. Why am I doing this? Maybe this is going to be the first and the last interview …
