Butiki
So this is weird. I thought I wasn’t afraid of lizards. I know for sure I’m scared of cockroaches, but lizards? They had never bothered me in my entire life. Honestly, I don’t really know the English term for these little creatures but in Tagalog, it’s butiki. From afar they look harmless I might even consider them cute. But just a couple of days ago, I had an opportunity to take a closer look at their skin. I was eating spaghetti and then all of a sudden something fell from the ceiling. Thinking it was just dirt, I immediately grabbed the thing from the floor to throw it to the trashcan. I wasn’t really looking at it, I just felt that the thing was moving. What was that? When I double checked the trashcan I thought I saw a tiny crocodile. I was horrified when I realized that it was a live lizard! Eeeeew! I thought I’m gonna die! Perhaps it was a peculiar kind of lizard. Its skin really freaked me out. It has a zigzag mark at the back that looks like a tattoo. I can’t believe I touched it …
