Reading other people’s blog can be devastatingly discouraging at times. In one of the blogs which I have read today, the author said that without craft one cannot become a writer. Without a craft, you’d be nothing but a mumbling 8-year old child. Her point is that one should have a formal training or education to be a novelist. Of course I know not everyone can be a novelist, for heaven’s sake. But I have no plans of enrolling myself in a degree that would teach me the intricacies of writing a good novel.
